This is the eastern side of the park. The road leaves the park over a viaduct and enters Walnut Hills.
This area of the park is known as the Twin Lakes. These lakes were created in 1891 on the site of the quarry which had provided limestone for many of the homes in Cincinnati and for the retaining wall of the reservoir. The two lakes are connected by a foot bridge. The next two rows of cards are views from the top of the water tower.
The next two rows are taken from the arch bridge.
These three cards are the same. Watch woman at bottom
The next five rows are views taken around the two lakes.

The next five rows are taken from the Twin Lakes overlook and, higher up, from the overlook on the road that goes to the Melan Arch Bridge, some are also taken from the top of the water tower. The land on the other side of the Ohio River is Dayton, Kentucky.

The next card shows the 30' high navigation monument that was dedicated by President Herbert Hoover on October 23, 1929 during the celebration of the canalization of the Ohio River. A series of 49 locks and dams were built giving the river a nine foot depth which allowed the river to be navigated the year round. The monument marks the mid-point of the 980 miles of waterway between Pittsburgh and Cairo, Illinois. The 2nd image is a present day view. The last non-postcard image shows some of the 20 steamboats that took part in the celebration.
This cover was issued at the Ohio Valley Improvement Convention held in Cincinnati on October 19, 1929. It was cancelled at 12 AM which was when the river reached the 9' stage for the first time. The stamp is the 2cent Ohio River Canalization that was issued for the occasion.
The next card shows the Frederick W. Galbraith Memorial next to the Twin Lakes. Dedicated in 1923 by the American Legion to honor its founder and first national commander.
SOLAR ECLIPSE 1905
On August 30th, 1905 there was a total solar eclipse that was best seen in Canada but this photographer took this spectacular shot from either a boat or from the Kentucky shore. Eden Park can be seen with the water tower easily seen in the distance. The photographer apparently did not make a postcard of the image until after 1907 because the stamp box is a "Kruxo" and dates it from 1907 to the 1920's.
